Using a "breadboard" is an easy way to quickly make a project circuit using electronic components. Try making the following circuits by following the diagrams and schematics for each one.
Project 1 - Push button LED circuit - try connecting the diode the other way (reversed). What happens? Now do the same with the resistor and LED. Now try replacing the LED with a small piezo buzzer.
|
Project 2 - Conductivity tester circuit - use this circuit to find out which substances are conductors and which are insulators.
|
Project 3 - Continuity tester circuit -
1. what happens to the LED brightness when you swap different resistors across the test position? 2. what happens if you put two 1k (1000 ohm) resistors in series vs in parallel? 3. what happens if you put an LDR across the test position? 4. Now try dimming the light using a 10k potentiometer across the test position. 5. What happens if you put a 100uF electrolytic capacitor across the test position? (watch carefully) |
Now, what if the flashing LEDS could be controlled by your computer? This is microprocessor control in the next section ....
